I had a job interview today. In Helsinki (and, like, so sorry I didn't call anyone but I was in a hurry). It didn't go very well, I guess. there were 3 people talking with me and I showed my portfolio, told about myself, answered the questions they had but it just wasn't right. When people are very openly bored and concentrating on not yawning I'm guessing I didn't make the impact I should have been making. Oh well, such is life and yada yada. However, I am very into making stuff from the booklet I found from my stuff. I'm thinking black lace, jersey and even leather for the clothes. Only for men, was my first thought, but no, on a better look at my ideas I'm sticking true to my form and not making any too strict guidelines. 

So, if and when this idea we've been chatting about with Anna actually gets going I already have quite a few ideas and decisions made for the whole thing.. hmm.. I'm actually very, very excited about this.

And on a totally different place I saw and heard something so alluring today that I can't take my mind off of it. This. (I can't find it on the tube so it has to be linked like this. I',. like, so sorry.)

Anyway, I'm really becoming Lady GaGa fan, big time. Such perfection.

And while I went through my old stuff..

..I found few interesting things.

First I found this tie.

I mean is this the ugliest fucking thing you've ever seen or what? It's odd to think that somewhere (in Milwaukee, according to the label in the back) sometime (in 1986, label) someone had designed, manufactured and retailed this. Even more amazing to me is that around 2007 someone (Maire) somewhere (UFF Helsinki) buys this. Makes you wonder. I mean yes, I like crap, kitsch and bad, bad taste but this thing is just.. wrong. In so many ways. I don't find it amusing, I just find it very disturbing. And yet I can not throw it away. And THAT puzzles me.

It's a beautiful day, I hear a symphony

Yesterday at work was hell. How can (some) people be so bloody uptight and hideous? Well, not hideous but lost in their own realms of unreasonable ideas and beliefs? And I'm supposed to be the one to drag them out to broad daylight. Nah, I'm not cut out for "customer service" and that's that.

But that's all behind me now. Today is a new day, the dog had it's run outside and I'm to write another job application, make a skirt to my goddaughter and make the patterns for my summer pants, black linen with a slight hippie feel to them. All in good time. It's only 8:34 am and I don't have to at work before 11:30 and I thought about asking to skip Thursday. I just don't feel like working right now. And considering that I am about to leave anyway I don't have enough stamina to give a damn.

I'm really into old disco right now. I like the resemblance of this and my favorite by Moloko. Very pretty. And groovy.

In addition to that I dig this one. It's a pity that real music videos are starting to vanish from the tube and are replaced by live versions or crappy clips by a phone camera or remixes. It's a real shame. And still These sounds fall into my mind.. (though not with the best version I've heard..).

New week, closer to Madonna and oh my, Tom Rebl..

Last night I was at the Madonna concert I'm so waiting for. I was in the front row, the show was at some old school gym that, as if by magic, held all the 80K people. At the end of the show she gave me a kiss. She was very small and her lips were rather hard. Still, can't wait to be there. I am, however, a little concerned about the fact that it's taking place outside in the Finnish summer night. What's going to happen with all the lights and stuff, like the video screens and things? They're not going to be all that.

I have my job interview on Friday, need to check things and update portfolio and stuff. Yesterday I built a path to my parents garden. Needless to say there might be more acute things to do right now besides the path. Anyway, it looks good, gives a whole new rhythm and structure to the whole yard.

I visited Tom Rebl (virtually of course) and my oh my, is there anything on the fall/winter collection that I wouldn't want and need? No. There's something in the way Mr. Rebl thinks and creates that really hits me, hits me hard. And the bad boys I was raving earlier are again in the pics. Love love love.

I had something clever to say about this week, at least if I think about the title I cleverly came up with, but right now my mind is blank and if I had an idea in my head about this week I shall come back if it occurs to me. Now out with my dog. 

Oh yah, I watched an interview with Anna Wintour this morning. That wasn't the thing I had in mind but it's something. 

I'm not sure of the results

Having a lazy Sunday morning I decided to get some opinions on the election that's coming our way. You know, I'm trying to be all grown up and politically awake and, like, vote n' all but I have no idea of any of the people who are running to the EU parliament, I mean besides Isä Mitro and Jani Sievinen (and as MUCH as I respect and love the idea of a hate free blog like Sugar Kane has and Suojakerroin 1000 but still.. with Isä Mitro I can't really .. I just can't be hate free.. so sorry about that).

Anyhoo, not knowing anything about anything I took some tests on few sites like MTV3 and Hesari and the result are.. (especially the one with MTV3 is a puzzler to me). 

According to Helsingin Sanomat my top ten candidates are mostly from the left (left alliance gave me 4 people while communist party of Finland provided 2) and in addition to this there were few people from a posse I've never heard of, Köyhien Asialla and honestly, who are these people and what are they doing and saying? 

But even bigger shock to me were the results from MTV3. In my top ten there I have 3 people from Christian Democrats (number one being this chap). Yes, I had some posse there from the lefties, too, but I also got some hits with Swedish People's Party (ha ha..) but I don't really see these tests giving me any direction or advice or anything. So I'm making few more. I suppose YLE has some tests too? 

Yes, YLE had a test. Not happy with the results. Again these crazy Christian people.. They're just NOT my cup of tea, in any way. So in other words, I don't have a candidate who could get my vote. Hmm..

Hmm..

I found the sunglasses that I so dearly love on a website. Now there are few more kinks. The ones I tried on were striped brown/brown shaded (the first ones on the site) but me being so in lööv with black I wonder whether the black/grey shaded (the second pair) would work better for me. Now, the price is almost 100 € cheaper on the website which would be a clever thing to do, buying them online. The biggest kink on the menu is actually the fact that I do not have any creditcards working at the moment.. If only I had a friend who could buy them for me but don't know if that's something someone would do. Still I really really like the glasses. And in black they'd be just perfect.

(Although these ones by Dior speak to me, too.. What is a boy to do?)

Crap..

I have quite a few pairs of sunglasses. Some are labeled with fancy logos like "Dior Monsieur" (and the prices are ridiculous, I paid 1 € for my brown faggots) and Thierry Mugler that I found at a sale, apparently the loyal customers of Stockmann didn't fancy them. I thought I had a pic of them or me wearing them from the hot hot summer 2007, getting slightly tipsy at Donna, but no I seem to have deleted it.. Pity.

Anyway, I also have a very nice pair of black and plastic, round ones that I got from H&M for the ridiculous price of 4,90 € and I love them more than anything, including my small round ones with shiny silvery metal 90s techno-feel by JPG. However, At some point I broke them, not permanently just the other earpiece fell off and until recently I had it along with me, even when I moved into this flat I had it but now it's not to be found. How very irritating, I could have just gone to the optic and tell him to glue it back together. So, that's the story of my favorite pair of shades. 

I don't know.. Oh yah, how I got here was by watching videos of and by Sinéad O'Connor and the ones she's wearing are just so very nice.

Not only do I like the concept of someone being so into baking but it gives me.. I start to (again) wonder why can't I be a good chef or at least nonchalantly make fab dinners with fresh herbs and great taste. One more thing that I should master sooner rather than later is the art of drawing. I really can't draw. And that sucks. And I should be able to.

I'm really into Earth, Wind and fire right now.

Today, having a day off, I shall either make me a nice pair of (linen) trousers or go to my parents place and start making little paths into their garden. The pants I'm seeing in the same spirit that Michael Jackson had in the 80s. I also love the white socks but not sure about the shoes. I mean are they loafers? And do I wear loafers?

And I'm loving the jacket on the left.

Big plans for the future. An anchor to my left arm, Eiffel tower to my right arm and a heart with ribbon and a text to my chest and going to America again next spring. All this was decided in a state of enormous drunkenness last Wednesday. Sounds like a plan to me. And yes, America.. What a lovely place to spend some quality time. And I definitely do want to see the Niagara falls. Preferably from Canada. The view seems so much better from that side of the border.

I've never seen any of the James Bond films. On the way back home from Helsinki recently my mates were discussing them. There was a disagreement on the subject of who's the best Bond ever. One said Sean Connery and one Roger Moore. They also ranked the best films to be Thunderball and Moonraker. Obviously I was forced to see them both just to be able to have an opinion which I usually have on any subject. 

Now I must say that Mr. Connery (don't know if he's Sir Connery and to lazy to check) wins with flying colors. Thunderball was just marvellous, Moonraker rather poor. And if considering the raw sexual appeal of Connery.. he could still do me any day. Now I do believe that I just have to see A View to a kill just because of Grace Jones. Also because I so vividly remember the poster for the film from my teens.

I was supposed to dig up some Bond-theme but I came across this brilliant track from a time not so far behind.

The show is over and I don't feel a thing

We watched the Eurovision song contest last night. I really don't have that much to say. To my likings Finland sucked and I honestly can't understand who in their right minds could believe that we'd stand a chance. But we have to remember that.. well, we usually do suck in this contest. Big time. But what was irritating to me was United Kingdom having Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber writing the song as well performing. That was just tacky to me. Also because the song really sucked. I've never really been into the whole thing, to me most of the songs sound exactly the same (like last night) and my ability to concentrate more than 10 minutes is very low. And here we have 25 songs that I'm supposed to listen and blah.. Not gonna happen. 

I've often fantasized, though, about representing Finland in the song contest. I'd be fierce and odd, I'd get the whole Europe crying and begging for more. I'd be that good. Lately I've been pondering that if (and when) I shall be a participant in that circus I'd want and need to have song that's dealing with big emotions and stuff and I'd love to have a song like Maria Louiza. I'd be wearing a blak hoodie, tight jeans and Converse All Stars. I'd be a sure winner. 

I've decided to ditch some clothes and stuff, like jeans that are broken, leather jackets that are broken (and too small) and create a new wardrobe. A wardrobe that's rather small but functional, simple and useful. Mostly black and grey, yes, with a dash of color. Like my mint green jeans. I've accepted the fact that my jeans size is nowadays bigger than before and that I really need a black suit. I have only one and though it's nice it's still not really to everyday use. I was drunk in Amsterdam when I got it and I've worn it twice (or three times) and I'm thinking of keeping it as my "better" suit, so I'd need a very simple, clean cut black suit. One that I could just put on and go to the city to buy Financial Times and Kauppalehti. I should take my shoes to be fixed and I'd love to find a new hat for summer. 

Basically all I need is the leather jacket that I've had my eye on for the past 2 days.
